MOP400M consumer rewards program rolls out today

To spur weekend shopping and support local businesses, the Macau government and Macao Chamber of Commerce kick off the “Grand Prize for Consumption in Community Zones 2026” campaign today, unleashing about MOP400 million in consumer benefits.

Residents using real-name authenticated e-wallets for transactions of MOP50 or more at eligible Macau stores from Friday to Sunday enter three electronic prize draws daily, with winnings resetting on Mondays.

According to the Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSEDT), vouchers valued at MOP10 to 200 must be redeemed Monday-Thursday at over 20,000 participating outlets, requiring an actual spend of at least three times the voucher’s face value. Weekly and grand final draws reward Monday-Thursday e-wallet spends of MOP50-plus.

Seniors with Macau Pass Senior Citizen Cards and holders of Disability Assessment Registration Cards gain an extra MOP500 instant discount, claimable at over 100 service points starting tomorrow. Tap the card for automated 50-50 splits on purchases up to MOP1,000 in value for every MOP500 spent, usable daily with no limits.

Speaking to local media, the DSEDT Business Promotion Division Director, Lai Chi Wai, urged residents to avoid the first-day rush. He noted that 24/7 government service centers, libraries, rehabilitation facilities, and convenience stores are fully trained and ready. Exclusions target utilities, gambling operations, large chains, and tourism giants to support small and medium-sized enterprises.

Restrictions also apply to financial, medical, educational, and transportation services.
