Nude chat scams cost victims RMB39,000

The Judiciary Police reported three nude chat blackmail cases resulting in combined losses of RMB39,000. In one case, a male student paid RMB34,000 after a hacker threatened to leak his photos but continued facing extortion. Another victim lost RMB5,000 to a female blackmailer using a nude video. The third case involved an edited indecent video of the victim, but the victim refused to pay. All incidents originated from social media contacts. Authorities reminded the public to remain vigilant against online scams and to avoid downloading unknown software or sharing private content with strangers.
