PJ urges public to enhance prevention measures against cyber attacks

The Judiciary Police (PJ) has issued an appeal from the Cybersecurity Incident Alert and Response Centre, urging the public to enhance their prevention measures against cyber attacks.

According to the statement, in recent years, cybersecurity incidents have frequently occurred in Macau, neighboring regions, and other countries, resulting in negative impacts such as the disruption of online public services, data leaks, and the spread of false information.

Safeguarding cybersecurity requires the cooperation of all sectors of society, the center said. “Ensuring efficient cybersecurity is crucial to protect national security, social stability, and the legitimate interests of the entire population,” the statement read.

Therefore, the  center calls on all sectors of society to remain constantly vigilant against risks and dangerous situations.

It also called on the public to implement appropriate security protection measures for websites and various types of online applications; and use complex passwords for business and private online accounts, and change them regularly.
