The Public Security Police have uncovered two separate sham marriage cases, detaining five individuals. In one case, a Hong Kong woman and a Macau man faked marriage to obtain residency status. An 80-year-old Macau resident allegedly acted as a broker, receiving HKD2,000 for the arrangement. In the second case, a mainland Chinese man, in a fake marriage since 2011, allegedly paid MOP120,000 to a Macau woman to gain casino access under the pretense of family visits.
