RGB appoints casino exec Kelvin Tan to board

Malaysia-listed gaming equipment supplier RGB International Bhd. has appointed veteran Macau gaming executive Kelvin Tan as an independent non-executive director last month, according to a filing with Bursa Malaysia.
Following the appointment, Tan was also named to RGB’s nomination, remuneration and audit committees. The filing noted that he holds a direct interest in 940,000 ordinary shares in the company.
Tan has served as executive vice president of international marketing at Sands China Ltd. since May 2015, where he oversees VIP and junket operations while driving regional market initiatives across Asia.
Additionally, Tan serves as the founding chairman of the Macao Malaysian Chamber of Commerce and the Macao ASEAN International Chamber of Commerce (MAICC).
Speaking to the Times, Tan highlighted his commitment to corporate governance and strategic expansion.
“As an independent non-executive director, we have the fiduciary duty to provide oversight of the management of the company, to look after the interests of all shareholders – including both minority and majority shareholders,” Tan said, adding that he hopes to help RGB expand into new markets, including South Korea and Taiwan.
