Sands China Introduces ‘Sands Cares x SEN Holistic Development Support Programme’

In cooperation with Bosco Youth Service Network, ‘Workplace Inclusion Navigation Day’ helps youth with special educational needs integrate into the workplace

Sands China and Bosco Youth Service Network recently jointly hosted Workplace Inclusion Navigation Day at The Parisian Macao for local youth with special educational needs (SEN). Through site visits and workshops, the event aimed to build a bridge to the workplace for SEN youth and help them improve their job-seeking skills, working together with the community to build an inclusive society.

The outreach event is part of the Sands Cares x SEN Holistic Development Support Programme, a new community project funded by Sands China for the Bosco Youth Service Network, dedicated to providing holistic development support for SEN youth.

The programme is built on three core pillars: pre-employment training, workplace support, and sports training. Through workplace skills workshops, internships, career counselling, and regular sports training, the programme helps participants improve their workplace adaptability, further their physical and mental health and successfully integrate into society.

During the Workplace Inclusion Navigation Day, the company welcomed some SEN youth to observe our back-office areas where they learned about the daily operations of a large integrated resort firsthand. Current employees with special educational needs were also invited to share their work experience and stories, conveying a corporate culture at Sands China that celebrates diversity and inclusion. Combined with a mock interview workshop, the experience aimed to help improve their workplace adaptability and prepare them for their future careers.

Sands China is committed to promoting inclusive employment by creating job positions and providing professional training and flexible support, offering the most job categories in Macao for employees with disabilities. The company has been working closely with the Labour Affairs Bureau and social service associations for many years, assisting with the employment of people with disabilities through accommodative work options and inclusive onboarding procedures.
