Secretary: security authorities facing challenges

Secretary for Security Wong Sio Chak predicts that law enforcement practiced by security authorities will face more challenges, while more unstable factors will affect the city’s security situation.
Hosting a dinner for media representatives yesterday, Wong stated that “with Macau’s continuous internationalization and the gaming industry developing into an adjustment period, Macau’s public security and safety situation will be affected by more factors of instability; each department under the Secretariat for Security will face more challenges in their law enforcement.”
The recently appointed secretary said he has learnt about the difficulties and deficiencies in each department’s work through a series of visits and inspections. He intends to submit a work plan with a timetable to the Chief Executive in the first quarter of 2015. BY
