Shenzhen–Zhongshan passage marks one-year milestone

The Shenzhen–Zhongshan Passage – the world’s widest and longest steel-shell immersed-tube tunnel – has celebrated its first anniversary. Since opening, it has carried more than 31.55 million vehicles – an average of over 86,400 daily – dramatically reducing travel time between the two cities. Authorities highlight its significance for high-quality transport integration in the GBA, enabling greater economic and social exchange across the Pearl River estuary.
