As Macau temperatures remain high, SJM Resorts is taking steps to protect employees who work outdoors.
In response to the extreme heat, SJM is actively implementing several cooling and safety measures for outdoor staff in alignment with guidelines from Macau’s Labour Affairs Bureau. The measures are aimed at ensuring workers’ health and well-being.
Each employee stationed at SJM’s outdoor shuttle bus stops is being provided with portable fans, sunshade equipment, cooling sleeves and heat-resistant clothing. The company is also supplying staff with water and energy drinks. Additionally, SJM is promoting messages on preventing heatstroke and reminding workers to take precautions in the intense heat.
Reasonable shift rotations have been implemented to allow for adequate rest and minimize the risk of heat exhaustion. The various cooling measures will allow outdoor employees to perform their duties safely in high temperatures.
Team members at the shuttle bus locations expressed gratitude for SJM’s efforts, saying the initiatives help them stay comfortable and safe on the job in the extreme heat. The measures demonstrate the casino’s emphasis on staff physical and mental health. SJM will continue optimizing safety programs to cope with high weather and create a safe workplace.
