Survey | Transport and communications revenues up

Revenue generated by the Transport, Storage and Communications Sector totaled to MOP28.69 billion in 2015 while expenditure amounted to MOP23.11 billion in 2015, up by 3.1 percent and 1.5 percent year-on-year, respectively.
According to the transport, storage and communications survey released by the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC), 2,789 establishments were operating in the sector, an increase of 272 year-on-year.
Revenue generated by the communications sector grew 16.2 percent year-on-year to MOP9.75 billion, of which receipts of Telecommunications Services (MOP9 billion) rose 13.7 percent. Expenditure increased by 19.3 percent to MOP 7.05 billion. There were 31 establishments operating in the sector, down by two year-on-year; the number of persons engaged increased by 7.9 percent to 2,489.
