‘Terceira’ increases frequency to three daily round trips

Information from the Jetfoil Conservation Concern Group has noted that the jetfoil “Terceira” has increased its frequency, now performing three round trips per day between Macau and Hong Kong.
According to the same group, the increase in the frequency of this vessel, currently the only jetfoil in operation, is potentially due to a lack of available ships in TurboJet’s fleet, as others are undergoing repairs and maintenance.
Since resuming operations in late September last year, Terceira had been performing only one or two round trips per day between the two regions.
In mid-May this year, a TurboJet ferry sustained damage after hitting a pier at the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal.
This incident occurred around the same time the company reportedly sold two catamarans (Universal MK 2015 and MK 2016) to be operated in Turkey.
Due to the same shortage of available ships, TurboJet announced that the Taipa ferry service would be suspended from June 16 through today. To address the issue, the company arranged shuttle buses to transport passengers between the Taipa Ferry Terminal and the Outer Harbor Ferry Terminal, a solution that adds travel time for passengers.
