Three-meter python found in Ka Ho
The three-meter python found at a construction site on Estrada da Barragem de Ka Ho is now in the care of the Municipal Affairs Bureau. A preliminary check-up showed the python was apparently healthy with no injuries. However, even though all pythons are non-venomous, authorities decided not to release it back into the wild due to its large size. The python is a National Second-Class Protected Species, authorities confirmed.
69 suspected illegal workers in November
Authorities detected a total of 69 suspected illegal workers last month during joint and sole operations targeting illegal workers conducted by the Public Security Police Force, the Labour Affairs Bureau, and other authorities. The figure is more than twice the number of suspected illegal workers found in October, which was 34. However, the operations were larger than last month’s, being conducted at 385 construction sites, private flats, commercial and industrial establishments.
AMCM summons duo to face unlicensed financial services allegations
The Monetary Authority of Macao (AMCM) has issued a notice summoning the directors of Bluemount International Limited, Chan Wai Yuk and Chan Lan, both Hong Kong ID holders, to answer a current investigation into allegations that the company provided financial middleperson services without a permit from December 2019 to November 2020. The services in question are the trading of securities, including bonds, stocks, and funds. A failure to answer the summons could result in a fine ranging between MOP10,000 and MOP5 million. If the financial benefit gained is later proved to have exceeded MOP2.5 million, the fine could be increased to a maximum of two times the amount earned, plus sanctions.
