
The International School of Macao (TIS) hosted the 2026 VEX Robotics Macau Championship recently, bringing together six schools and over 200 students across 50 teams.
The event showcased student skills in design, engineering, and teamwork in a large-scale robotics competition, according to the school’s statement.
Among the guests was Dr. Yang Lei, associate professor and director of Undergraduate Studies at the Macau University of Science and Technology’s Faculty of Innovation Engineering.
In her keynote, she highlighted the role of STEM education, emphasizing curiosity, creativity, and perseverance, and noted that students’ work reflects the skills that will shape future technologies in Macau and beyond.
One of the event’s highlights was the Excellence Award, recognizing top performance in design, teamwork, competition, and documentation.
TIS’s robotics team 85301X “No!” received the award and will represent Macau at the VEX World Championship in St. Louis, Missouri, marking their second consecutive appearance.
