Triathlete wins bronze medal at Asian Games

Hoi Long won a bronze medal in the women’s triathlon individual competition of the 18th Asian Games, which took place on Friday.

This is the first medal for Macau since it has participated in the Asian Games’ triathlon category.

The triathlon contest includes swimming, cycling and running. In the end, Hoi took the bronze medal home with a total time of 2 hours, 1 minute and 28 seconds. Another Macau athlete, Lei Cho Ieng, ranked 14th with 2 hours, 27 minutes and 5 seconds.

During the 13th day of the Indonesian event, other athletes of Macau delegation competed. In the canoe competition, Cheong Sin Yi Louisa, Ng Si Cheng and Lao Hou Kit finished the race in 56.166 seconds, 58.933 seconds and 44.168 seconds, respectively. These times, however, were not enough to advance to the finals.

Cyclists Lao Long San and Kok Mun Wa also concluded their participation in the tournament, failing to finish the race.

In diving, Tang Hio Fong completed the competition but failed to advance to the finals.

The Macau delegation concluded its participation at the Asian Games with one gold, two silver and two bronze medals.
