A still from the video shows the individuals on the restricted bridge

Two pedestrians were fined after being found walking on the Governor Nobre de Carvalho Bridge amid the ongoing typhoon, a restricted area for foot traffic during hazardous weather.

A video circulating on social media shows the two walking swiftly across the bridge with luggage, despite strong winds and heavy rain.

According to the Public Security Police Force (PSP), they received a report around 11:30 a.m. today and dispatched officers who escorted the individuals to safety.

The pair violated traffic regulations that prohibit pedestrian access to the bridge under road safety laws.

Authorities remind the public to remain indoors during typhoons to ensure personal safety.

In 2018, five mainland Chinese nationals were fined by the PSP for walking on the bridge while Typhoon Signal No. 9 was in effect.
