Woman sent to hospital after struck by falling canopy

A falling piece of a building exterior struck a woman yesterday afternoon who was walking on a street in the ZAPE area.
The incident occurred on a pedestrianized street adjacent to I Keng Kok Building.
The woman, who was aged around 30, was sent to the public hospital for emergency treatment, the police said. She was unconscious when she was being sent to the hospital.
The detached part of the building was reported to be a piece of the canopy that had rusted. Rock debris littered the floor in the street area affected by the incident.
