10-story, two-star hotel set for Patane as land concession approved

Another new hotel is set to be developed in Patane, as the government’s Official Gazette published a Secretary for Transport and Public Works order approving the land concession for two plots in the district to construct a 10-storey building housing a two-star hotel and carpark.

The government order signed by the Secretary for Transport and Public Works, Raymond Tam, approved the consolidation of two long-term lease plots on Rua da Ribeira do Patane – covering 342 and 480 square meters, respectively – into a unified 793-square-metre site, designated for the construction of a 10-storey, two-star hotel and parking facility.

The two plots, diagonally opposite the Patane Library, will return three parcels totaling 29 square meters to state public land for streets under the new alignment, with the developer paying MOP32.47 million in premiums and MOP1.418 million in adjusted land fees. The concessionaire will have a total of 60 months to complete the land redevelopment.

The redevelopment site, located on the former premises of the Kei Fong Yuk Distillery factory, has a history dating back to 2014, when local media reported that the land had been acquired by a Macau-based property developer with plans for a MOP200 million, seven-story budget hotel featuring approximately 200 rooms, capitalizing on the wine factory’s cultural narrative.

The developer told reporters at the time that the project had been filed for building approval in 2012 but remained pending, with a target opening by 2016.

Notably, the Patane district is already home to two hotels – a three-star hotel and an economy accommodation facility.
