11 tech firms earn certification under tech innovation scheme

Signaling progress in the city’s efforts toward moderate economic diversification and high-tech industry growth, the Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSEDT) has certified 11 more technology companies in Macau through its Technology Enterprise Certification Scheme.

In the final list announced by the bureau on Monday for the May 2025 batch, Macau Pass S.A. was elevated to Key Technology Enterprise status, while the other ten companies were recognized as potential technology enterprises.

Since its inception, the scheme has completed five application rounds, awarding certifications to a total of 51 local technology enterprises.

These include seven key technology enterprises, one growth technology enterprise, and 43 potential technology enterprises, all vetted through a rigorous evaluation process.

“The scheme aims to identify qualified local technology companies through an evaluation system and provide them with official certification at varying levels to encourage business expansion,” the DSEDT said.

The evaluation panel assessed applicants based on business scope, research and development activities, and innovation capacity.

Certifications fall into three categories: Potential, Growth, and Key Technology Enterprises.

Among those certified in the most recent batch, effective September 15, 2025, are NetCraft Information Technology (Macau) Co., Ltd., Shiji Group (Macao) Co., Ltd., and Quantum Nebula Microelectronics Technology Co., Ltd.
