The biennial International Youth Dance Festival 2014 has concluded, with more than 15,000 visitors attending the seven-day event. The closing ceremony was held at the Macau Forum last week. A total of 11 dance groups, including those from Sri Lanka, the mainland, Korea, the United States, Hong Kong, Russia, Australia and Madagascar, and also local dance groups and schools, participated in the show. The Festival included a large parade, opening and closing shows, outdoor performances, and various exchange activities, coinciding with the summer and peak tourism period. The closing show was joined by over 600 international and local dancers. The event was organized by the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau, with the help of the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau and the Education Forum Asia Beijing. This biennial event has a history going back 27 years to its inception in 1987.
