National gold medalists joined the GEG teams and other guests at the “Walk for a Million” charity event.

Athletes interacted enthusiastically with citizens participating in the “Walk for a Million”.

GEG welcomed the National gold medalists at Galaxy Hotel™ of Galaxy Macau™.

Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) has been actively supporting the Macau SAR Government’s initiatives in sports development. Over the years, GEG has been supporting, organizing and participating in various sports events and activities, while creating opportunities for community engagement in sports, elevating Macau’s position as a “City of Sports” through diverse support in various aspects. In celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macau SAR, from December 6 to 8, the “National Gold Medalists Visit to Macau – Vitality Walk 2024 Presented by GEG” was successfully held in Macau. Title-sponsored by GEG, organized by the Sports and Olympic Committee of Macau, China and co-organized by Associação de Amizade de Membros da Conferência Consultiva Política do Povo Chinês na Instância de Província de Macau, the event was participated by 13 national gold medalists, including track and field athlete Su Bingtian, swimming athletes Zhang Yufei, Wang Shun, Sun Jiajun, gymnastics athletes Liu Yang, Li Xiaopeng, Liu Xuan, Li Shanshan, pool player Pan Xiaoting, diving athlete Wu Minxia, badminton players Fu Haifen, Zhang Ning and volleyball player Zhao Ruirui, who joined the “41st Walk for A Million” charity event and various community activities. Delighted to be the title sponsor for the first time, GEG has been supporting the “National Gold Medalists Visit to Macau” series since 2013, and continue to provide accommodation and catering to athletes at the Galaxy Hotel™ of Galaxy Macau™ integrated resort, one of GEG’s flagship properties.

GEG organized the “Go for Gold” treasure hunt game at Galaxy Macau, creating opportunities for athletes to interact with the local community.

Joining participants in the “Walk for a Million” on December 8, the 13 national gold medalists, together with Mr. Francis Lui, Vice Chairman of GEG, Mr. Buddy Lam, Director of Corporate Affairs of GEG, cheered for GEG team members, local groups and residents joining the charity walk.

National gold medalists took a photo with the winning teams of the “Go for Gold” treasure hunt game.

During the Macau visit, the gold medalists also visited the Macao University of Tourism and the Lou Hau High School, where they interacted with local youths along with representatives from the Associação de Amizade de Membros da Conferência Consultiva Política do Povo Chinês na Instância de Província de Macau. The athletes shared their experiences in sports career and encouraged youths to actively participate in sports activities, spreading the positive values and the spirit of sportsmanship among Macau’s young generation.

Athletes experienced Macau’s cultural charm of revitalization area at the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards.

Hoping to encourage members of the community to be more engaging in sports and create opportunities for them to interact with the national gold medalists, GEG, together with the organizer, meticulously curated the “Go for Gold” treasure hunt game, inviting about 300 members from different local organizations and groups to form teams with the athletes and participate in various games. The teams included members of the GEG Youth Achievement Program, which is jointly organized by GEG and the Macau Management Association; students from the Lui Che Woo College of the University of Macau; and members of the National Conditions Education (Macau) Association. Teaming up with the national gold medalists, they were arranged to play games and interact with each other at several iconic locations at Galaxy Macau. Weaving in elements related to the “Double Celebrations”, a quiz was set as a final round competition of the treasure hunt game with questions around national conditions and Macau.

Local resident and tourists expressed warm welcome to the athletes at Lai Chi Vun.

The gold medalists also visited Lai Chi Vun Shipyards, which is revitalised by GEG partnering with the Macau SAR Government. Accompanied by Mr. Buddy Lam, Director of Corporate Affairs of GEG, the athletes experience facilities enriched with technology and leisure, as well as family-friendly amenities in the historic area. Through an introduction by the representative of the Fishermen’s Mutual Help Association of Macau, they experienced Macau’s cultural charm of revitalization area and community tourism by learning about the history of Macau’s shipbuilding industry, enjoying traditional fishing net weaving and appreciating Macau’s intangible cultural heritage “Saltwater Song”. In addition, GEG invited member families of the Macao Federation of Trade Unions to join the athletes in experiencing the cultural and creative bazaar setup in the area, attracting many residents and tourists to gather in a warm and lively atmosphere. Moving forward, GEG will continue to make good use of its own resources to promote the integrated development of sports and tourism, further facilitate local community exchanges through sports, and advocate the importance of sports for all.
