The 72nd edition of the Macau Grand Prix (GP) has been officially inaugurated with a ceremony held at Tap Seac Square on Saturday.
Concurrently, the Car & Bike show was held over the weekend, attracting visitors and residents who could get a closer look at the machines and interact with some of the racers who will be competing during the GP, which takes place from Thursday.
As in previous editions, the event attracted many fans of the races to visit the venue on Saturday and Sunday.
The two-day show at Tap Seac Square included an FR race car, as well as many of the cars participating in the FIA GT World Cup and motorcycles from the Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix.
The event also featured sales booths for cultural and creative Grand Prix-themed products.
The promotional activities of the GP will continue this week with a touring exhibition of racing photography, which has visited numerous schools across Macau this month and will continue to do so until the GP weekend.
The organizers said that this touring exhibition aims to provide the younger generation with a deeper understanding of the event and its significance for local history and the economy. As part of this campaign, the Macau Grand Prix Organizing Committee will once again invite local students to watch on-site this year.
In her inauguration speech, the Acting Vice President of the Sports Bureau, Lei Si Leng, stated that she hopes the community events will increase the public’s interest in and appreciation for the event. Rm
