Applications open for youth internship programs

Applications open today at noon and close August 1 at noon for two newly launched internship programs designed to enhance youth employment and professional development.

The Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) and the Livelihood Affairs Bureau of the In-depth Cooperation Zone announced the initiatives as part of the SAR government’s “1+4” moderate economic diversification strategy.

The “2025 Macau Youth Key Industry Special Internship Program” will offer 60 positions for eight weeks, focusing on four major industries: high technology, traditional Chinese medicine, cultural tourism, and modern finance.

Selected interns will gain hands-on experience in areas such as information technology, fintech, data analysis, biomedicine, marketing, finance, and human resources, with the aim of strengthening their skills and employability.

In addition, the “2025 Macau Youth Cultural Tourism and Sports Industry Special Program” provides 20 internship placements lasting 12 weeks. Participants will work in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, supporting preparations for the upcoming 15th National Games.

Internship roles will include competition organization, venue operations, information management, publicity, and audience services, offering valuable experience in sports event management.

Applicants must be Macau residents aged 35 or younger with at least a bachelor’s degree. The DSAL announced that 2025 graduates will be given priority.

Interns will receive a living allowance of MOP 5,000 every four weeks, a one-time travel and insurance allowance of MOP 500, and additional support including accommodation and accident insurance from the Cooperation Zone. NS
