A Brazil delegation led by Secretary for Technological Development and Innovation from Brazil’s Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Guilherme Coutinho Calheiros, has visited the University of Macau (UM) and the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST)
The delegation was accompanied by deputy commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in the MSAR, Sun Xiangyang.
The delegation and the university exchanged views on the development of science and education, personnel training and other aspects, in the hopes of deepening cooperation.
During the visit, the delegation was introduced to the history and development of UM, as well as the cooperation between UM and universities in Brazil and other Portuguese-speaking countries.
According to the UM, it will continue to deepen and broaden its cooperation with Brazilian universities to jointly promote the development of higher education.
Carheiros said that he will continue to encourage Brazilian universities to strengthen their cooperation with UM to promote mutual academic and scientific research development.
Meanwhile, in a visit to the MUST, the delegation first visited the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicines.
Carheiros expressed appreciation for the achievements of the university in this field, and hoped that the two sides could have more in-depth exchange and cooperate in the quality research of traditional Chinese medicine. The group also visited the State Key Laboratory of Lunar and Planetary Sciences, where he also expressed his hope to expand the cooperation space and jointly promote human understanding of deep space exploration.
The visit was aimed at establishing a cooperative relationship to promote the scientific and technological development of Portuguese-speaking countries. Staff Reporter
