Car tax updates to enter legislative procedure in Q3

The Transport Bureau (DSAT) has reviewed legislation to introduce to car tax updates, according to a report by Radio Macau. In a reply to a written enquiry by lawmaker Chan Meng Kam, the Bureau said that legislative procedures to introduce the updates could begin in the third quarter of this year. The bureau added that it is aiming to introduce the car tax updates at the same time as it inaugurates the Vehicle Inspection Station that is currently under development in Cotai. New inspection rules will also be introduced.

Alexis Tam prioritizes education

The Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Alexis Tam, said during a China Youth Federation ideology promotional meeting on Monday that the current MSAR government administration is concentrating more of their efforts on youth education than ever before. “The age we live in is an age of large development, where Macau is intricately linked and intertwined with the country’s roots. Which means whether the development of Macau or the revival of the Chinese nation, the heavy responsibility is being shouldered by the promising youths of this age,” he stressed.
