Chui reaffirms efforts to ensure judicial independence

Judicial independence will continue to remain under the government’s watch, Chief Executive Chui Sai On pledged in his address to legal practitioners yesterday.
He firstly extolled how the principle of “one country two systems” and “Macau people governing Macau” could be realized through the Basic Law and reiterated the government’s stance to keep judicial independence intact.
The CE invited citizens and related organizations to join the government in safeguarding what he described as “the core values of the Macau society.” Additionally, Chui promised to continue strengthening occupational training for the officials serving in legal departments.
