Corporate Bits | Sands ambassadors visit elderly for spring-cleaning

1-SCCA-gift-sharingSeventy-five volunteers from the Sands China Care Ambassadors programme joined the elderly residents of Seac Pai Van for a spring-cleaning session on Sunday.
This is the seventh consecutive year that the Care Ambassadors have helped Macau’s elderly residents – many of whom live alone – with spring-
cleaning to prepare for the Chinese New Year.
The volunteers helped 25 households prepare for the Year of the Monkey by sweeping, mopping and vacuuming the residences. The Care Ambassadors also distributed CNY gift packs containing staples such as rice, oil, grain and noodles.  Sands China has supported the Peng On Tung Tele-Assistance programme since 2010, and has contributed more than MOP1.2 million to the programme, benefitting more than 1,330 elderly residents.
The annual tradition is one of the important ways in which Sands China’s team of volunteers extends a helping hand to vulnerable and disadvantaged members of the local community.
