A sign for the Sands Macao hotel and casino, operated by Sands China Ltd., a unit of Las Vegas Sands Corp., stands in Macau, China, on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014. Sands China, the Macau casino operator controlled by billionaire Sheldon Adelson, expects industrywide gaming revenue in the city to rebound this month and rise more than 20 percent. Photographer: Brent Lewin/BloombergSands China Ltd. recently sponsored the “Protecting Childhood – Moral Teenage Model Collection” charity initiative, which was organized by the Beijing Hua Yan Group and officially launched in May at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The initiative includes the staging of “Monkey King – a Mythical Theatre Show”, a production co-created by Sands China and Beijing Hua Yan Group. The show will premiere at the Pacifica Theatre at Sands Resorts Cotai Strip Macao in early 2016 and will showcase Chinese culture to local and international visitors.
The “Protecting Childhood – Moral Teenage Model Collection” initiative aims to find 100 children and teenagers aged between 7 and 14 years from remote areas of China who are able to demonstrate their appreciation for traditional Chinese virtues and who show good character even in the face of adversity. Selected children will then have the opportunity to travel to Macau to learn more about Chinese culture by enjoying the Monkey King show.
“Sands China is very glad to be working with Beijing Hua Yan Group to bring this exciting stage production to Macau,” said Dave Horton, Global Chief Marketing Officer, Las Vegas Sands Corp & Sands China Ltd. “We are thrilled that the show is to be performed at the purpose-
built Pacifica Theatre at Sands Cotai Central. We are equally thrilled to be able to use this opportunity to provide an avenue of cultural exchange”.

City of Dreams and show media launch taxi driver appreciation program

cityofdreams_20100603151930City of Dreams and Show Media, a global provider of interactive digital taxi media platforms, have jointly launched a taxi driver appreciation program in Macau as part the Sixth Anniversary celebrations of City of Dreams. The program honors top performing taxi drivers for their contribution to the positive experience of millions of visitors fuelling Macau’s rise as a major tourist destination.
Utilizing Show Media’s technology and data gathering capability, City of Dreams will offer special prizes to reward those taxi drivers who deliver the most positive experience to their passengers. To indicate a positive taxi experience, passengers can simply push the “Click if You Loved Your Taxi Ride” button displayed on the Show Media unit inside the taxi during their ride. The program also aims to increase engagement with the taxi driver community, with initiatives including welcome stations and giveaways to drivers when they visit City of Dreams.
Ms. Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, Director of the Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) said, “The Macau Government Tourist Office has been working closely with local businesses to enhance the service quality of the tourism industry. I am glad to see that City of Dreams and Show Media have taken this proactive approach to reward outstanding taxi service in Macau and support in developing Macau into a World Center of Tourism and Leisure.”
