Around 60 Sands Cares Ambassadors assisted children with special educational needs and their families at The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Expo Sunday for an afternoon of fun activities at the Special Cares Network Carnival.

Nearly 600 participants attended the carnival, which offered various activities including photo-shooting, collecting souvenirs and snacks, and game booths, the gaming operator said in a statement.

Sponsored by Sands China Ltd., the Special Cares Network Carnival aims to provide opportunities for children with special educational needs to enjoy a fun outing with their families, while encouraging the strengthening of society’s care for and support of children with special educational needs.

The carnival also helps promote the network of nongovernmental organisations in Macau that provide services to children with special educational needs.

Winnie Wong, vice president of corporate communications and community affairs for Venetian Macau Limited, said: “Sands China is continually proud of our Sands Cares Ambassadors. They represent some of the best qualities of our team members – compassion, service-mindedness and professionalism.”

Cod with egg and angel hair fried potatoes “à Brás”

Fado, the restaurant at Hotel Royal Macau, has prepared a host of Portuguese delicacies to welcome the Year of the Pig.

According to a statement issued by the hotel, the restaurant’s crab bread stew with octopus carpaccio and bell peppers, which is served with premium olive oil and the chef’s secret seasonings will be one of its appetizers. The dish is complemented with the crabmeat marinated in onion, olive oil and red pepper.

For the main course, Fado will present its version of roasted suckling pig with potato chips and orange salad as well as cod with egg and angel hair fried potatoes “à Brás.”

The restaurant’s chef will fry the codfish, onion, egg and potatoes in front of the guests.

Grouper with corn stew with shrimp, smoked sausage and coriander will also be served featuring Portuguese corn stew, lobster bisque, coriander, garlic and olive oil.
