A group of approximately 40 members of the Lok In Elderly Service Centre of the Women’s General Association of Macau watched the La Parisienne variety show earlier this month at The Parisian Macao, as guests of Sands China Ltd.
Sands Cares Ambassadors accompanied the group around a tour of The Parisian Macao prior to the show, which included the observation decks at the Eiffel Tower, according to a statement issued by the gaming operator.
Before the performance of La Parisienne, the group enjoyed a meet and greet with members of the show’s cast.
“The elderly members of our association were so enthusiastic about this opportunity given by Sands China. The transportation arrangement made it so easy for them to attend,” said Ho I Lam, acting director of the Women’s General Association of Macau’s Lok In Elderly Service Centre.
Macao water supports Oxfam campaign
Macao Water was recently invited to become a sponsor at the 2018 Oxfam Rice Campaign, thus setting up a charity sales stand in its office building to raise funds for the campaign.
According to a statement, the company acquired hundreds of batches of rice from Oxfam, supporting the campaign in a variety of ways to assist vulnerable small farmers in their fight against poverty.
Last month, together with Oxfam (Macau Branch), the water company donated 350 packages of Oxfam rice to the Pou Lei Centre of the Fuhong Society of Macau, as a contribution to the daily operations of the association.
Macao Water said that it hopes to have new opportunities to co-operate with other institutions and promote the link between the company and the underprivileged.
Macao Water also extended such initiatives to the company itself, hosting an event entitled “Green Monday with Oxfam Rice,” organising a vegetarian lunch for all employees, using the Oxfam rice.
