Two Geg engineers complete scheme “A” graduate training
Galaxy Macau received accreditation from the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) in 2015, offering the Scheme “A” Graduate Training Program in Mechanical Engineering for graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering program at University of Macau (UM).
Vito Ao Ieong and Tom Lam are both UM alumni of the class of 2016 and engineers in Galaxy Macau’s Engineering Department. Last July, they became the first locally trained engineers to complete the two-year training program in Macau, Galaxy Entertainment Group announced in a statement.
According to the gaming operator, there are currently a total of eight team members in GEG’s Scheme “A” Graduate Training Program in Mechanical Engineering.
During the on-the-job training, the job rotation system provides the trainees with exposure to various job assignments in the Engineering Department. The program fast-tracks becoming a registered engineer, as the two years of on-the-job training are recognized by HKIE.
