Creative Industries | IC to stage Macau Pavilion in Shenzhen
The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) will be organizing a Macau Creative Pavilion at the 12th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair to promote the participation of Macau’s cultural and creative entities. The pavilion, which will be staged at the fair between May 12 and 16, aims to showcase and commercialize cultural and creative products from Macau, according to a statement by the IC.
This year, the design of the pavilion will be featuring multiple hues and irregular color patches, which the IC says are intended to “symbolize the urban vitality of Macau in a distinctive way.”
Some of the participating cultural and creative entities from Macau include Native Ltd, JE Handcrafts Co. Ltd, Casa de Artesanato Nam Fan Lou, Soda Panda Product Design, Mobiliário Urbano Designers Limitada, Leathership Creation Ltd and Follow Design Co. Ltd.
The IC has been organizing the participation of Macau’s cultural and creative sector in the international fair since 2006. It has been inviting local cultural and creative entities to join in the Macau Creative Pavilion following its inception in 2010.
This year’s Macau Creative Pavilion will be hosted in Hall 2, also known as the “Creative Living Hall,” though the bureau has not specified why it would not be held in Hall 1, the “Cultural Industries Hall” which is about twice the size of Hall 2.
The international fair, which opens tomorrow, will be held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center. It is expected to attract more than 2,000 exhibitors from government delegations, enterprises and organizations.
