The Diageo World Class Competition makes its triumphant return to Hong Kong and Macau, honouring excellence and innovation in mixology while spotlighting the masters who define the craft. After a rigorous selection process, World Class is proud to announce the Top 8 finalists who now advance to the prestigious Grand Final at its regional official venue partner, Wynn Palace in Macau.
This year’s Top 8 represents a powerhouse lineup of Hong Kong and Macau’s finest hospitality, hailing from world-renowned institutions such as Bar Leone, COA, Darkside, Penicillin, and The Bar at The Peninsula, alongside crowd favourites MIUS, Long Bar, and Palace Reserve Club. Their journey to the Grand Final unfolded through two distinctive challenges that put both creativity and technical finesse in the spotlight. The opening round, ‘The Unplugged Session’ with The Singleton of Glen Ord 13 Year Old invited bartenders to curate a multi-sensory experience that celebrated the art of slow craftsmanship. This was followed by ‘The Dual Expression’ with Ketel One, where a single local ingredient became the canvas for two contrasting cocktail interpretations, highlighting both precision and versatility. From concept to execution, each round revealed the depth of talent across the field, setting the stage for eight finalists who now bring their individual perspectives to the forefront, reflecting the energy and evolution of the region’s bar scene.
As the competition builds to its defining moment, all eyes turn to the Grand Final at Wynn Palace. Against the backdrop of this celebrated venue, the finalists will face a series of exhilarating challenges designed to push the limits of their creativity, skill, and composure. At stake is the coveted title of Diageo World Class Hong Kong & Macau Bartender of the Year 2026, and the opportunity to represent our cities on the global stage at the World Class Global Final in Scotland this October.
