Four of 23 research projects to receive funding

#CHINA-WORLD BOOK AND COPYRIGHT DAY-READING (CN)Four out of a total 23 eligible research projects have been selected by a panel of experts to be awarded the 2015 IC Academic Research Grant. The Cultural Affairs Bureau launched the new “Academic Research Grant Regulations,” which came into effect on February 1.
These grants seek to encourage original academic research on the culture of Macau and further dialogue with mainland China and foreign countries.
The selected projects included “Ties Between the World and China: A Study on the Early Postal History of Macau (1757-1842)” by Professor Leng Dong, who holds a Ph.D. in Chinese Literature, and “The Evolution of the Urban Form of Macau” by Tang U Wa, who obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Macau (UM).
The third project chosen was entitled “Russia and Macau in History” and produced by Professor Lui Ruomei, who holds a Ph.D. in Russian Language and Literature.
The final project was called “Literature Review and Research on Papal Legation to China During the Reign of Emperor Kangxi (1705-1722)”, by Professor Han Qi of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
