Galaxy appoints Thomas Arasi as new CFO; Ted Chan steps down

Thomas Arasi
Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd announced yesterday that Ted Chan will step down as chief financial officer, with Thomas Arasi succeeding him, the company said.
Chan’s departure marks the end of a seven-year tenure during which he contributed significantly to finance, corporate strategy, and investor relations at the integrated resort.
He initially joined GEG in 2018 as chief operating officer (COO) for a Japan development, leading the company’s Japan market efforts until 2022. Chan was promoted to chief financial officer (CFO) in March 2023.
Chan’s successor, Arasi, brings over 35 years of corporate experience spanning financial services, hospitality, and integrated resorts. Previously, he was president and COO of the Philippines-listed Bloomberry Resorts, which operates Manila’s Solaire Resort & Casino. He also held top executive roles at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore and InterContinental Hotels Group Plc.
Francis Lui, GEG’s chairman, said that he was “confident that under Tom’s leadership, we will continue to have an exceptionally strong finance function to support the group’s business performance and strategic growth. Tom will work with Ted to ensure a seamless handover, transition, and leadership continuity.”
Chan will step down as CFO on October 27 and will officially leave the company on November 22. NS
