GEG launches Macau’s first landscape upcycling program

Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) has introduced Macau’s first “Landscape Resources Upcycling Program” in honor of World Environment Day and Beautiful China Promotion Week. The initiative, developed with local firm Chazence, recycles landscape waste into materials for hotel and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) operations. It has been rolled out at Capella at Galaxy Macau, Andaz Macau, and the Galaxy International Convention Centre, with applications including door hangers and menus.
GEG operates over 66,000 square meters of landscaped greenery at Galaxy Macau. The upcycling process transforms maintenance-derived resources into sustainable materials. Additionally, GEG donated plastic bag fee proceeds to the Fuhong Society of Macau to support recycling and vocational training for persons with disabilities. All GEG properties also turned off non-essential exterior lighting for one hour on June 5.
Furthermore, the group holds the largest number of EarthCheck certifications among integrated tourism enterprises in Macau.
