Galaxy Arena and Tencent Music Entertainment Group’s TMElive have extended their strategic partnership for another three years, securing their collaboration through 2028.
Building on the success of their initial agreement, the renewed deal combines the strengths and resources of both parties to deliver an even more diverse array of entertainment offerings at the integrated resort.
Galaxy Entertainment Group chairman Francis Lui, speaking at the renewal ceremony alongside COO Kevin Kelley and Tencent Music’s executive chairman Cussion Kar Shun Pang, highlighted the venue’s growing appeal.
“Since opening in 2023, our 16,000-seat Galaxy Arena has become a favorite among show organizers, performers, and audiences alike,” Lui said.
He noted that during the first half of 2025 alone, nearly 190 events were hosted at the Galaxy Arena and the nearby Galaxy International Convention Center.
The partnership has already brought some of Asia’s biggest stars to Macau, including K-pop icon G-Dragon. In early June, G-Dragon performed three consecutive sold-out shows at Galaxy Arena as part of his world tour, attracting a combined audience of 36,000.
This success was made possible through the collaboration between Tencent Music Entertainment, the agency representing the South Korean rapper, and Galaxy Corporation, which supported his regional tour.
Lui described the collaboration with TMElive as a proven “powerful driver of cultural exchange, tourism, and entertainment in Macau.”
Pang echoed this enthusiasm, stating, “TMElive has always been committed to delivering exceptional online and offline performance experiences. The renewed partnership with Galaxy Arena will allow us to continue innovating and expanding the reach of Chinese music, both regionally and internationally.”
Meanwhile, planned events include continuing the highly popular TMElive International Music Awards (TIMA) and Tencent Music Entertainment Awards (TMEA), which were held at Galaxy this past weekend.
The inaugural TIMA featured 25 internationally acclaimed artists over two nights (Aug. 22–23), followed by the sixth edition of TMEA on Aug. 24.
In addition to concerts, Tencent Music recently hosted the TME Chinese Music Impact Summit on August 23 at Galaxy’s Banyan Tree Hotel. This event gathered global music leaders to discuss the future of Asian music on the world stage and launched “Project X.”
According to the press statement announcing the renewal, the partnership will expand its event offerings to include large-scale concerts, music festivals, and culturally focused galas. A new program will also offer Tencent Music’s online members priority access to select events.
