Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) is promoting green living in the community through diverse initiatives.
Ahead of the “BBC Seven Worlds, One Planet Live in Concert” at Broadway Theatre tomorrow, GEG partnered with the Macao Orchestra and Green Future to host the “GEG Rhythms of Nature Family Workshop” at Lai Chi Vun Shipyards.
The workshop, which quickly reached full capacity with over 30 family groups participating, combined environmental education with interactive activities.
Families took an eco tour highlighting sustainable design features like natural ventilation, vertical greening, and use of recycled materials, as cited in the gaming operator’s press statement.
The tour also showcased the local mangrove ecosystem, emphasizing the area’s ecological and cultural importance.
Participants created handmade musical instruments from recycled materials such as staff uniforms and chopsticks, learning about upcycling and waste reduction. The event concluded with a percussion performance by the Macao Orchestra using household items, followed by a live jam session involving families and children, promoting environmental awareness through music and creativity.
