A new direct air route was established between Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong Province in south China, and Budapest in Hungary last week. The inaugural flight, CZ649, departed from Guangzhou at around 1 a.m. with more than 200 passengers on board, marking the first direct flight between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Hungary. Operated by China Southern Airlines, the new air service uses a Boeing aircraft and offers flights four times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.  The journey between Guangzhou and Budapest takes approximately 12 hours.
