Gov’t to develop national regulations on EV parking

The Office of the Secretary for Security has announced that the security sector will collaborate with relevant government departments to examine the national regulations and guidelines on the parking and charging range of electric vehicles, as well as indoor charging. The office has cited the Transport Bureau’s commitment to monitoring the progress of electric vehicles and promptly updating relevant guidelines and inspection requirements for frontline vehicle inspectors. This comes amid lawmaker Ma Io Fong’s query to the government concerning the increasing popularity of electric vehicles that urged authorities to review and enhance the standards of fire protection equipment in public parking lots.
