Hac Sa Youth Camp tender set for this year, opening next year

The “Hac Sa Youth Activity Experience Camp,” first proposed in 2023, will finally go to tender this year, with its camping area and four-wheeled vehicle track slated to open in the third quarter of next year.
The project, spanning a total area of 10 hectares with an overall budget of MOP500 million to MOP 600 million, will be developed and opened in phases. According to the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM), the construction of the play equipment – which includes 13 items based on concept designs provided by the design firm, along with foundation works and related installation – is expected to be completed by August next year.
The four-wheeled vehicle track and camping area are slated to open in the second half of next year, while the authorities aim to complete all phases of the project and launch a trial operation by the fourth quarter of next year.
The authorities recently provided an update on the experience camp project, confirming that the design optimization has been completed and that the tender process will be initiated within this year, with the camping area and four-wheeled vehicle track expected to open in the third quarter of next year.
In a written reply to a lawmaker’s inquiry, IAM president Chao Wai Ieng stated that once the project is fully completed and operational, the leisure facilities in the Hac Sa Beach area would be further enhanced, forming a well-equipped and functionally complementary recreational space that would offer more diverse activity options and boost the area’s overall appeal.
Meanwhile, according to the bureau, the Coloane pedestrian trail project is progressing, with a 5.73-kilometer section running from Estrada de Seac Pai Van via Rua de Entre-Campos, Estrada de Choc Van, and Estrada de Hac Sa to the Rotunda do Altinho de Ka Ho already completed, effectively forming a basic pedestrian network linking various districts of Coloane.
The authorities are now pushing forward with the optimization of municipal facilities at Hac Sa Beach, including the construction of a leisure trail from Estrada de Hac Sa to Hac Sa Beach and the renovation of the restaurant within Hac Sa Park. Chao said that once the various projects are fully completed, the Hac Sa Beach area would offer a more comprehensive and attractive leisure environment for residents and visitors alike.
