The Guangdong-Macau In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin held a development conference yesterday, alongside a meeting on coordinated growth between Macau and Hengqin’s manufacturing and services sectors. Executive Committee director Tai Kin Yip said the zone will prioritize projects closely linked to Macau that support local enterprises and create jobs for residents. Authorities aim to resolve most problematic property projects in 2026 and repurpose sites for industry, housing, hotels, and commercial use. Tai added that “1+4” industries now account for 67.1% of GDP, surpassing the 65% second-phase target.
