Hong Kong man rescued after drowning incident

A 56-year-old man from Hong Kong is recovering after a near-drowning at the Parisian Hotel in Cotai. The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. last Friday (23 Aug), when medical staff received an emergency call about a swimmer found unresponsive in the pool by hotel personnel. Firefighters arrived promptly and transported the man to Conde S. Januário Hospital, where he was initially in a coma. The Health Bureau (SSM) later reported his condition had stabilized, and he remains hospitalized for observation. The cause of the incident is under investigation, as authorities continue to gather information from witnesses and hotel staff.
