IAS to improve central registration system for drug abusers

The Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) has announced its plans to improve the central registration system for drug abusers. This includes seeking input from academic institutions to improve the system’s filing process and to clarify the definition of drug abuse. The goal is to finalize a comprehensive report by the end of this year and move forward with the next phase of the project. IAS revealed that over 80% of drug users reported using drugs either at home or in hotels last year, adding there has been a rise in drug abuse among Macau residents in the mainland and Hong Kong.
