IPIM leads business delegation to Mozambique

Macau is leading a 29-member business delegation to Mozambique from July 20 to 25, the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) said. According to organizers, the visit aims to advance China’s broader outbound investment strategy while supporting Macau’s economic diversification.

The delegation comprises entrepreneurs from mainland China, Macau, and Hengqin. It covers a range of sectors, including trade with Portuguese-speaking countries, infrastructure, engineering, technology, logistics, cross-border e-commerce, and professional services.

According to IPIM’s statement, the highlight of the trip will be the “Entrepreneurs Meeting for Commercial and Economic Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries – Maputo – 2026,” scheduled for July 23 and 24 in the Mozambican capital.

The forum is co-organized by Mozambique’s Investment and Export Promotion Agency, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and IPIM. The event will center on the theme “Investing in Logistics and Infrastructure to Drive Development.”

Launched in 2003 under the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macau), the annual event has rotated among Lusophone nations since 2005.

In addition to the forum, the delegation will hold meetings with around 10 Mozambican entities, including government departments, business associations, and leading enterprises.

These engagements are designed to identify concrete opportunities for collaboration among China, Mozambique, and other Portuguese-speaking markets. NS
