The Secretary for Transport and Public Works, Lau Si Io, said that the overall occupancy rate of the Seac Pai Van public housing complex is “already high,” and it will increase rapidly after households gradually move into the Edifício Ip Heng T1 units.
Lau further stated that, “residents’ living environment should be constantly improved. Given the overall needs, Macau’s existing and announced future housing units are at of a sufficient number.”
Responding to the media’s inquiry on whether the public facilities and bus services in Seac Pai Van are adequate, the secretary stressed, “it takes some time for a community to develop from zero to satisfying.”
“Which came first? The residents to the services is like the chicken to the eggs,” he explained, adding that more bus shifts and routes have been added there, while healthcare and childcare services will be gradually strengthened.
“If the occupancy rate is not high, it won’t be easy for the shops to return cost. Thereby the government wishes to enhance administrative efficiency for the households to move in as soon possible and create better business conditions to meet the residents’ needs,” Lau added. Brook Yang
