Life as a fairytale

Diptyque is launching its holiday collection, “A Night of Wax and Gold”, which transforms the festive season into a magical Diptyque fairy tale. The collection, a nod to the literary cafés of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, was imagined by a trio of artists: Parisian bookseller and illustrator Vincent Puente, contemporary writer and poet Victor Pouchet, and artist Inès Mélia.

The Maison invites you into a world where objects are suspended between the fantastical and the mysterious. As the clock strikes midnight in a Parisian wonderland, Archibald, a mischievous bookstore cat, watches as the impossible happens: wax begins to display strange powers, mundane objects glow with gold, and the cityscape outside transforms into a mystical forest of pine. This is the alchemy of winter wonderland in its purest form, captured in a collection where every creation seems to have escaped from the fairy tale itself, adorned with surreal imagery and motifs traced in luminous gold.

Inspired by the fairy tale’s setting, the Advent Calendar is a masterpiece of design, a book to be opened and explored. Its golden cover glitters with promise, but its full decorative splendour is only revealed upon opening. Inside, the shelves of a Parisian bookshop come to life, with 25 surprises tucked away between the pages, waiting to be discovered day by day.
At the core of Diptyque’s holiday celebration is the iconic Sapin (Pine Tree) fragrance. It evokes the warm, enveloping scent of a freshly cut tree, a masterful blend of fresh, vibrant notes of Siberia pine and balsam fir essence, balanced against woody, resinous cedar nuances.

The seasonal Sapin scent is available in a variety of limited-edition forms. Available in classic, small, and a very large limited edition, the Sapin (Pine Tree) Candles are enhanced with a precious hand-applied gold finish, mirroring the pine cone in the story that gains a dusting of gold. Also speckled with gold is the enamelled vessel for the very large, limited-edition candle hand-crafted in the south of France.

Another returning holiday staple is the Scented Advent Taper Candle, shaped like a pine tree with a flame as its crowning star, counting down the 25 magical days of December.

The iconic scent is also available as a Home Fragrance Diffuser – a work of craftsmanship made from Murano glass, featuring white and silvery specks reminiscent of a snowy winter night. For the first time, the emblematic Sapin scent is also available as a Scented Oval, a precious object housed in a gold-speckled ceramic medallion handcrafted in Portugal. IS
