Macau film ‘The Violin Case’ debuts at Studio City

A Macau independent feature film, “The Violin Case,” premiered on May 15 at Studio City and drew more than 200 guests from Hong Kong, Macau, and overseas, according to organizers. The release was supported by Melco Resorts and Entertainment to boost Macau’s developing film sector. Melco executive Kevin Benning said, “Studio City was built on a cinematic vision, making it the perfect stage to celebrate a film that is proudly ‘Made in Macau’.” He added the company’s support aligns with the government’s “Tourism+” strategy.

Inspired by a real incident involving artist Konstantin Bessmertny, the multilingual film reflects Macau’s urban identity.

The event began with a reception at W Macau before a screening at Studio City Cinema’s Dolby Cinema. “The Violin Case” will make its local public debut on May 22 and screen in Lisbon on September 11.
