Macau is currently hosting the 2026 annual conference of the International Media Management Academic Association (IMMAA), running from October 20–24.
The event marks the first time the association’s conference is co-organized by both a professional media association—the Macau Portuguese and English Press Association (AIPIM) – and an academic institution, the University of Saint Joseph (USJ).
The conference brings together scholars and practitioners to explore evolving trends in media strategy, operations, and innovation, with a special focus on Asia-Pacific media developments.
According to AIPIM president José Miguel Encarnação, the collaboration allows academics to gain deeper industry insight while helping media professionals understand new management models that enhance operations, expand audience reach, and diversify revenue streams.
