Macau premieres Xi Jinping’s cultural and economic documentaries

Macau has launched two new documentary series focused on Chinese President Xi Jinping’s cultural and economic thought, with the aim of deepening local and international understanding of his policies.

The premiere ceremony yesterday at the China-Portuguese Countries Trade Cooperation Platform complex was attended by Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai, central government officials, and representatives from the military and social affairs departments.

Sam said the series offers a “comprehensive, precise, and profound” look at Xi’s economic and cultural ideas, highlighting the president’s emphasis on cultural heritage and China’s economic transformation.

The series includes “Xi Jinping’s Cultural Affinity,” which examines Xi’s approach to culture, and “Xi Jinping Economic Thought Series,” which outlines his guidance on economic development.

Sam added that the broadcast aligns with Macau’s role as a “window for exchange between Chinese and Western civilizations” and supports the city’s ongoing promotion of high-level openness and cultural exchange.

He emphasized that “Xi hopes Macau will become a key hub for high-level external openness and a window for exchanges between Chinese and Western civilizations.”

Following the premiere, Macau and the China Media Group signed multiple cooperation agreements, covering film industry collaboration, sports broadcasting, and educational initiatives, aiming to strengthen Macau’s international media presence and cultural outreach.

The series will air on local television and online platforms through November. LV
