Man loses over MOP140,000 in impersonation scam

A local man lost more than MOP140,000 after falling victim to a scam involving suspects posing as mainland law enforcement officers, Judiciary Police said. The victim received a call from someone claiming to be from Wuhan police, alleging his travel permit data had been misused in fraud cases. During a supposed “online investigation,” he disclosed personal and banking details. He later found his account inaccessible and discovered MOP143,000 had been transferred out.
